Our advice
- Consider a sealed starter motor: for off-road use or wading, a sealed starter reduces the risks from water and mud.
- Check the polarity: many older Land Rovers are positive earth. Check it before fitting any electronic component.
- Keep the period look: a dynamo-look alternator keeps the engine bay looking original while delivering the output of an alternator.
